About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Can I ask and get a TWOV per itinerary below:

I hold a Canadian passport. Plan to fly from Vancouver, Canada to Hong Kong and stay in Hong Kong for a few days. Then take a cruise from Hong Kong to Shanghai and stay in Shanghai for a few days. Then fly from Shanghai to Vancouver.
The said cruise will be from Hong Kong to Manila, Philippines; then to Kaohsiung and Keelung, Taiwan; then to Naha, Ishigaki, Kagoshima and Nagasaki, Japan; then to Busan, South Korea; then to Shanghai.
Any difference if I fly from Shanghai to Seattle, U.S.A. then take the bus from Seattle to Vancouver ?

This qualifies with no issues. You are entering China from Korea so you can fly through any country except Korea and be eligible. So for example Korea > Shanghai > Vancouver is OK but Korea > Shanghai > Korea > Vancouver is not
