Transit visa. Does my husband needs it too

Question # 1.
I am green card holder of USA . I am going from Kathmandu, Nepal to Sanfrancisco, USA. I have transit in Guangzhou, china for 6 hours and then 2 hours stay over in Wahun, China. And then to Sanfrancisco, USA. Do I still need transit visa?

Question # 2.
My husband is US citizen. He is also going from Kathmandu , Nepal to Sanfrascisco, USA with me.
