Australian flying to Beijing to board ship to japan: Does 144 hour visa free transit qualify

Australian flying from Sydney to Beijing for one night hotel stay in Beijing then train to Tianjin cruise port to board cruise ship to Japan then Taiwan,Hong Kong, Vietnam, Singapore. Does 144 hour visa free transit qualify and if so do I need to contact the airline company before departure to get the OK
