About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

UK>Shanghai>AKL

Hi

I have a flight from the UK to AKL via Shanghai.

I have a 16 Hour stopover both ways. Does this mean I can leave the airport to explore and return in time for my flight?

Its up to immigration but there have been reports of denied leaving airport unless overnight with a hotel
