TWOV or Visa Application

I am a US passport holder that is visiting family in Taiwan. Wanting to fly from Taiwan to Shanghai (for 72 or 144 hours) to Hong Kong then back to Taiwan. Will I need a visa or do I qualify for the TWOV? Thanks!

Yes, Taiwan > Shanghai > Hong Kong is allowed under 144 hour Transit Without Visa. Where you are before or after those 2 flights is not something Chinese immigration worries about.
