Student X2 Visa and Residence Permit

I was an exchange student in China for one semester and I had an X2 with one entry, which was consumed. In the meantime, I applied for a residence permit and I have decided to continue my next semester in China again. Am I allowed to enter China with my valid residence permit regardless of X entries?
Also, for continuing my studies, should I get a new X2 or do I just have to extend my residence permit? What documents do I need?

If you have temporary residence permit, you cannot enter China with this valid residence permit regardless of X type entries. You are supposed to apply for a new student X type for China.

x2 doesnt include residence permit. you just have temporary student status. According to laws, you can apply for the new x2 with new jw document and admission notice but there are some unwritten regulations that you can just learn them with experience. PSB recently is just refusing x2 and ask applicants to apply from home country. So keep it in your mind. You are welcome
