About:China Visa Application Procedure and Fee

Do I need to have my airfares and accommodation booked before applying for a China visa?

I am planning two possible trips to China as a tourist to watch sporting events. I have not yet secured tickets to these events, or booked my travel as I wanted to make sure I got my visa first. Do I need to have my airfares and accommodation booked before applying for entry permit?

If you apply for Chinese tourist L type, and you don't have invitation letter from China, you need to show round trip air tickets and hotel reservation for that.
