Visa-Free Transit after Chinese Visa has expired

Hello,

I am going to China on a business trip on a 90 day multiple entry visa (13th Sep-12th Dec).

However, I have a return flight from Beijing booked for the 3rd January, which is over the validity of my entry permit.

I plan on going leaving Beijing for Singapore on 12th Dec (end of my visa duration), and to come back to Beijing on 2nd Jan (day before my flight back to the UK).

Could I apply for a TWOV in this instance and would there be any problems because I already have an expired entry permit in my passport?

May thanks for your help!

There's no problem as the immigration officer doesn't care about your expired visa.
