About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Do I need visa ? I'm flying from LAx to Bali

and laying over on Xiamen for 12h, Do we need visa? can we go out of airport to see the city with the free 72 h twov ? I have a AMERICAN passport and my wife a Brazilian passport ! Thank you !

You don't need it as you can apply for 24h twov in Xiamen. You are allowed to go out of airport to see the city. Don't worry.
