To apply for Chinese F type, if it's your first time to apply for Chinese visa, you need to show bank statement, tax certificate, and your identity card for that. You also need to show the invitation letter from mainland China for the application.

Thanks for your response! What if i have a sponsor in china to support all my financial needs? Can we use their bank statement instead? And for the invitation letter, does it have to be an invitation letter from the person who invited me?

I think you can use their bank statement. The invitation letter should come from the person or agency who invite you.
