do we have enough time to do a private tour with an 8 hour layover?

Question

We arrive in Beijing from Vancouver Canada at 3:30pm. Our next flight to Singapore leaves at 12:10am.  Is that enough time to see the Great Wall or do any other tour?

I'm afraid that you do not have enough time to visit the Great Wall during your layover because the site closes at 6pm-7pm. If you want to go to downtown, you can take the Airport Express to Dongzhimen Station and transfer to Subway Line 2 or Line 3 to downtown and stroll around the attractions such as Shichahai, Bell and Drum Tower or Wangfujing Street etc. Then you can go back to the airport.
