About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

17 Hour Transit in Beijing

Hi, I'm a Malaysian travelling on Air China from KUL to NYC with a 17 hour transit in Beijing International. Will I need to apply for a visa to transit via Beijing and if I do what entry permit will I have to apply for?

Also, will I be able to leave the transiting area to explore the city during the layover?

Thanks!

Yes, you need to apply for it because you cannot enjoy free transit policy.
