About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Hello, Required Visa if I arrive by train?

I am travelling from San Francisco (USA) to Hong Kong, then taking a train to Xiamen, I'll stay there for 3 days and fly to Vietnam. Can I apply for the 72 hrs Free transit?

Thanks

You must have a Chinese visa for that. 72 hour twov doesn't apply.

So If you enter China by train, you need to get the G?

If I change my plans and decide to fly to China from Hong Kong, Can I do the 72 hrs Free transit and then Fly to Vietnam

You will want the L, If you have US passport with more than a year left on it you can get a 10 year multi entry visa to China.

Or you fly Hong Kong > Xiamen > Vietnam you can use the 72 hour twov. Please note the flight Xiamen > Vietnam cannot stop in Hong Kong.
