About:China Family Reunion Visa

Are you allowed to go into employment on the Q1 or Q2 visa?

No. If you want to work in mainland China legally, you need to have a valid work Z type. If you are currently in mainland China, you can try to convert the Q type into a work Z type at the exit and entry administration of the local PSB.
