About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Do I qualify for 144-hour Free Transit by flying the following route?

Can I fly from Chicago, IL (USA) [country A] to Taipei (Taiwan) [country B] to Shanghai (China) [country C] to Los Angeles, CA (USA) [country A]

China is always country B, never A or C.

But in your case you're fine as Taiwan (country A) - China (country B) - USA (country C) is fine for the 144h twov.
