About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Routing verifiication

My routing is Tokyo -> Hong Kong (layover) -> Shanghai (visit) -> Hong Kong (visit) -> Tokyo. Does the layover in Hong Kong make me ineligible for the 144 hour free transit?

Hong Kong - Shanghai - Hong Kong is not a transit so you need a visa.
