when he deiced to end it on my birthday due to some past issues I had with myself. We have remained in contact not daily but from time to time, and he tries to be included in my life since I have worked on bettering myself and regaining my independence, he invites me out with him, and comes over to my place, and his family continues to remain in contact with me. We talked and he says he wants to take things slow, but he does not know whether he wants to get back in it or not but the way things have been going I feel that we could get back together. Is there a chance for us and will we work?

You may have a chance of 50/50 to get together again. You did a good job when you are apart with him and you didn’t lose yourself into the sadness. Now, what you should do is just to clear the boy’s ideas about your love relationship. If he is not sure, just keep calm and keep a distance with him.
