About:Chinese Consulates in South Korea

ARC required?

I'm an American living in Beijing, and I need to change my visa from a work Z to a student X. I know people used to go to South Korea for entry permit runs, but now I'm reading things about needing an ARC to apply for a Chinese entry permit in Korea? Can non-resident foreigners come to Korea to apply for entry permits, or no?

Ashton, if you don't have ARC card, you are not advised to apply for Chinese visa in South Korea. You can try to go to the exit and entry administration of the local PSB to change the Z type to X type. It's possible for you to do that in there. You can contact them for detailed information.
