May I know which section would you like to visit? I need know this.
The future weather at the end of July may be rainy in most days and the temperature may be around 20 - 30C so it may be warm and even hot. An umbrella is greatly needed. Also, you should take some summer clothes, sun umbrella and sun cream.

Yes, Badaling Great Wall is the most popular section and it is well equipped with cable car and pulley. The cable cars usually run between the parking lot of the back-mountain and North Tower 8 that is suitable for all visitors, and runs between the opposite of Zhan Tianyou Memorial Hall and South Tower 4. Pulleys are not fitful for the elderly and kids, running the Bear Garden at the front mountain to North Tower 4.

1. Take the Bus 877 at Deshengmen, taking about an hour and costing CNY 12 per person.
2. Take Tourist Bus Line 1 at southwest of Qianmen Arrow Tower, to the south of Tiananmen Square, taking about 100 minutes and CNY 20 per person paid in cash
