Lost passport in italy while I'm a student in china how do i enter china back

I lost my passport in Rome. In it i have a Chinese resident permit but now i have been to Chinese embassy they said I cant get any kind of visa to enter china back unless I go back to my country which is Nigeria. If i had time i could go, BUT I AM ONLY HERE FOR A CONFERENCE AND I HAVE TO WRITE EXAMS IN MY SCHOOL NEXT WEEK...Please give me suggestions...
