Hi Transit through Guangzhou

I have 2 seprate flights one is from cambodia to Guangzhou on the 2nd July. It lands at 12:45pm. The next leaves to the UK on the 5th July at 9am. This is less than 72 hours but it is 3 nights will i be ok to leave the airport? used to live on Guangzhou and I'm picking up my luggage from a friend.
