About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

flying NZ-Shanghai-Bejing- Ulan Bator

We enter china in shanghai and have a 3 hour layover on way to beijing. from there we intended on staying 48 hours and then flying to Ulan Bator. is there any way to make use of this visa? is it at the discretion of the immigration officer?

Two stops in mainland China limit you to 24 h twoc. But you have more than 24 hours stay in China, you need to apply for a visa for that trip beforehand.
