is there a need to buy online ticket in advanceat station?

Will be travelling from Nanjing to Hangzhou. Is it better to buy the ticket online before travel date or buy at the station? Which is cheaper?

There are many high speed rides a day for this route. You can buy the ticket at station if you do not have to depart at an certain time. The total cost would be cheaper if you buy the ticket at station directly as there is no extra service fee. If you are very worried about the ticket availability, advanced booking will give you a peace of mind
