Transit visa for Malaysian passport holder

Hi, I am a Malaysian passport holder and need to catch a transit flight at Shanghai Pudong airport. The waiting time is less than 24 hours. Do I need to apply for a transit (G)?

Yes, you need to apply for it because you cannot enjoy free transit in mainland China.
