About:China Visa on Arrival

I want to come to china next week fir a trade show. Can I get a VOA in Beijing airport?

Do I need a formal letter from the trade show organizer to present there on arrival?

Your best plan is to arrange flights that are compliant with the 144 hours transit without visa policy. You won’t be able to get VOA.
