How can i go about visa and travel from here (colombia) as a south african to China.

You can try to apply for a Chinese tourist L type form the China embassy in Colombia. First, you need to provide a filled-out application form affixed with a passport-style photo, your passport and its photocopy, valid residence permit or visa in there, round trip air tickets and hotel reservation. Then, submit the application to China embassy to apply for that.
