1) Which is nearer? From Hangzhou or Shanghai?2)Can we self travel to the mountain and how long and how to reach there?3)If we intend to stay 2 night in the mountain, any recommendation of average (3 star) hotel or any temple stay?how to do a booking?

1) Of course it’s Hangzhou. 2) Yes, you can take a bus from HZ Bus Station to Putuo Bus Station. It takes 4-4.5 hours and about CNY100. Upon arrival, take a taxi from the station to Zhu Jia-jian Wharf, which takes about 15 minutes and CNY 20. Then take a ferry to Putuoshan and it costs about CNY 25 and 20 minutes for a single journey. 3) Meijinge Hotel is available and it is located at No. 85, Meichen Road, Putuo District, Zhoushan City.
