About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

72 hours in Shanghai

I am travelling Auckland to HongKong in June.
I will fly HongKong to Shanghai and then Shanghai to Auckland.

Will I need a Visa to stay the weekend in Shanghai(72 hours)?

No, you don't need it, and actually you can extend your stay to 144 hours and tour in Shanghai, Zhejiang, and Jiangsu.

It’s fine as long as your Shanghai to Auckland flight doesn’t stop in Hong Kong (or another city in China).
