72 hours transit. Holding UK passport (asking for a colleague)

Itinerary
30 May: SIN-PVG
1 June: PVG-HKG
5 June: HKG-SIN
Does this itinerary allows the traveller to get the 72 hours free entry?

This itinerary allows the traveller to get the 144 hours free transit in Shanghai. Nice trip.
