Applying visa for short course in China

Dear Sir,
I am S.Saravanan, working as senior chemist in water board, Srilanka, I have been select to attend a short course in china, arranged by chines academic of science. I would like to visit to your embassy in Colombo by next week to process the visa. i have already received the invitation letter, in addition to this what are the documents i have to submit along with the application form ? is it possible to collect my entry permit by another person in 4th day?
