About:China Visa Entries / Validity / Duration of Stay

M Visa. (I am aware I would need to apply for multiple entries)

I'm going to Shanghai for work for 7 days so will be applying for an M, however I want to stay in China for 10 days of personal travel afterwards - potentially going to Japan then returning to fly back to the UK from China. Is this allowed on the M type?
