You can book the ticket on the Shanghai South Station official website with your Chinese friend’s help or buy the ticket at the bus station. The ticket fare is CNY36 and there are usually 20 pairs of buses with duration of about 2 hours.
The bus schedules are from 06:45 to17:50, which will meet your travel plan.
