How To Get JW201/JW202 Form

Hello. I'm Chike. I have an invitation from a Chinese Professor for research bench work in his laboratory for 6 months. I wish to know which of the forms I need - JW 201 or JW202? Secondly, where and how do I obtain those forms? I believe I should apply for X2 Visa, right?

Chike, if you are a self-funded student, a JW202 is required, and you can ask your school to apply for it for you. If you intend to study in China for a period of no more than 180 days, you can apply for a X2 type for the study in mainland China.

Thanks. However, I just have an invitation to come to the Lab of the Professor for a 6-month bench work. There's no admission from the school, just an invitation from a professor.

If so, maybe you can try to apply for an F type for that, and the JW form is not required then. You can have a try.
