Hi, if you are traveling Country A - Shanghai and Hainan (with 24 hours) - Country B then you don't need to apply for a Chinese visa for the trip.

I will not be in Shanghai I will land and have to transit in Shangha to Hainan.
I will be staying in Hainan for 7 days, is a China visa needed for this with a uk passport ?
