Which is better to take from Guangzhou to Hong Kong, bus or train?

We will be in GZ this May & would like to know if it is better to take the bus to HK? We've tried taking the train from GZ to HK a couple of times but never tried the bus. Which is more convenient? Faster including immigration? Thank you!
