About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Airline employee with China Crew Visa but travelling for pleasure....does this complicate things?

I am an airline employee, and will be traveling with my wife this summer, but it will be pleasure travel. I will NOT be traveling as an airline crew member. She does not have a Chinese entry permit. I have a current, crew member Chinese entry permit but I do not have a Chinese tourist L. My wife and I want to travel from Hong Kong to Beijing to Tokyo. When we arrive in Beijing, will having a Chinese Crew entry permit complicate things for us or create confusion with Chinese Customs officials?

Not having a visa is not a problem for this route as long as your outbound tickets are confirmed and not standby (that means no employee passes or buddy passes). Also your stay must be under 144 hours and you must be staying within the permitted regions.

Thanks for the answer and including the detail about standby travel. We'd probably be travelling standby on the outbound leg from Beijing so the 144 transit wouldn't work for us : (
