should i need to take transit visa

i am travelling from vancouver ( canada ), to hyderabad ( india ) , it is a 2 stop flight one in beijing ( china ) and other new delhi ( india ). am indian citizen. my lay over time ( waiting period) in beijing airport is 6 hrs.

now my question is should i need to take transit G for 6 hrs waiting period in beijing. is it compulsory to take transit g for 6 hrs waiting period.
