I have been in china for over 5 years, staying more than 9 months every year, married for 3 years already and have a son too, holding a working visa but for some reason wanna change to family residence permit but how go do with the proof of secured living status? show a bank statement for a specific amount of money? and what about household? my spouce family household is ok or a rent flat contract is ok .. wondering ... can get it several year residence permit or just to renew every year

Hi, you cannot apply for permanent residence of PRC at present. You can try to convert your current Z type into a Q1 type at the exit and entry administration of the local PSB within China. Then, you can apply for a residence permit which will allow you to live in China for at least one year. After one year, you can renew it. You can go to the local PSB to ask for the details.
