About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

New Zealand to Tokyo passing by Xianyang and Tianjin

I am flying from NZ to Xianyang then wait 2 Hours at the airport and travel to Tianjin and wait for 8 Hours and final destination to Tokyo. Can I apply for this free transit VISA?

Ana, you qualify for the 24 hr direct transit in mainland China as your total layover time in China is within 24 hours. No visa is needed, either.
