About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Hi, amsterdam-shanghai-paris-amsterdam

I am planning to fly from amsterdam to shanghai (stay there for 2 days) and then fly to paris and then to amsterdam, can I apply for the 72h free transit instead of full entry visa?

Yes, that route is fine for 144 hours transit without visa.

So
Amsterdam—Paris—Shanghai—Amsterdam?
Is that possible under the 72/144 hrs transit? Thanks again!

That is also fine. But Amsterdam-Paris-Shanghai-Paris-Amsterdam or Paris-Amsterdam-Shanghai-Amsterdam-Paris are not okay.
