About:China Business Visa

F Visa 6 months - Travelling China

Hi, I'm planning to spend 6 months in China travelling and blogging on the most hidden places of China. I was going to apply for an L, submit the itinerary of places I want to visit and hope the Embassy can extend the L but will be difficult. After reading your article I'm thinking to apply for an F. I know a Chinese friend who loves in China. If they provide me an invitation letter, could I apply for F for 6 months? Any suggestion on reason of travelling to input in the invitation letter?

Hi, I'm afraid you cannot apply for an F type if you visit China for sightseeing purpose. But if you have a L type, after you enter mainland China, you could apply for the extension at the exit and entry administration of the local PSB. If it can be done, you can stay in China for longer time.

Usually, the extended period won’t exceed the duration of stay of your current L type, and there is no specific requirement for how many times you can apply for the extension. You will know the answer only after you do that.
