About:Visa Policy of China

24 hour transit visa - beijing

Hi,

I am an Indian citizen travelling to India from Mexico via Beijing. Do I need to get a transit visa prior to my travel or I can get it when I reach Beijing.

Hi, if your total layover time in Beijing is within 24 hours, and have nonstop in China after Beijing, you can apply for the 24 hr direct transit at Beijing airport.

Hi Edwin,

Than you for your response.

My airline carriers are different from Mexico to Beijing and Beijing to Mumbai. I do not want to leave the airport, just wait in the international transit area, so in that case I just have to go through the immigration check in China and then wait to board my next flight without getting any visa.

The wait time between the flight coming to Beijing and leaving Beijing is 11 hours.

Please correct me if I am wrong.

Hi Edwin,

One more question, my flight from Mexico to Beijing will arrive on Terminal 2 and flight from Beijing to Mumbai will depart from Terminal 3 on Beijing airport.

So can you tell me about the transit process and also please confirm that I do not have to go out of the airport for that.

Go to the transit immigration line and fill out the paperwork, then an officer will give you a 24-hour entry permit, then clear customs, take the shuttle bus to Terminal 3 and check in, board the train to the international satellite terminal, and complete outbound immigration check and security check. You need 2 1/2 hours minimum.
