72 Hour Visa-free entry

I will arrive in Shanghai on October 10th 2018at 20.10 and will leave at 00.40 on October 13th. I understand that the 72 hour period starts at midnight on the day of arrival, so my total stay would be 48 hours and 40 minutes.

I have a British Passport and an onward ticket back to the UK.

Please confirm I am eligible for this scheme. Thank you.

It depends on where you're arriving from. If you arrive in Shanghai from U.K or China you will not be eligible. If you arrive in Shanghai from anywhere except U.K or China then you are eligible.

There´s no 72h twov in Shanghai, just 144h.

So if you fly HK - SHA - UK you´re eligible for the 144h twov.
