About:Mount Emei

Mt. Emeishan

Hi! We are planing a trip to Chengdu in may. Our plan is
Day 1: leave Chengdu in the early morning and go right to the mountain, stay overnight in a temple
Day 2: hiking/sightseeing at mountain and sleep in a Hotel in Emei or Leshan
Day 3: see Leshan Giant Buddha in the morning and leave for Chengdu at noon or early afternoon

Do you think that's a good or would you Change something?
How does it work with the overnight stay in the temples, you just go there and ask for accomodation or can you make a Reservation somehow?
Any recommendation in which temple we should stay?
Is the mountain crowded at the end of may?
What should we definitely see when we go there?

Thanks!

Hallo! I think it’s better to visit Leshan first.
Here is my suggested plan:
Day 1: leave Chengdu for Leshan in the early morning and visit the Giant Buddha; there are many hostels near the Buddha, you can choose one to stay overnight.
Day 2: leave for Emeishan in the morning. Take a sightseeing bus to Wuxiangang and then you can hike up the mountain. You can climb to Qingyin Pavilion, Yixiantian, Monkey Zone, Xianfeng Temple and Yuxian Temple.
Stay in a temple on the mountain, and no need to make a reservation, just find a temple and ask for accommodation.
Day3: walk to Leidongping and take a cable car to Golden Summit to enjoy the sunrise. If you still have time, you can wander around the scenic area. Then, prepare to leave for Chengdu.
