Your plan is great and doable! I’d like to give you some advice~
For your luggage, you can inform the airline that you would like to have it checked through to the final destination. After arriving at WH Airport, you need to apply for a temporary stay permit to leave the airport.
The taxi fare for a sing trip is around 90yuan, and the ticket fare of the yellow crane tower is 80yuan. Besides, you need some cash for tasting local foods. So, you’d better exchange for around 500yuan. Oh, the hubu alley is about 1km northwest of the tower, you can just walk there within 15mins.
Don’t worry about the taxis, you can find it easily.

Yes, CNY 90 is for one way. The driver may not speak English, but tell him you want to Huang He Lou, he will get it! As for free wifi, no worry! It’s available in most downtown areas and airport!
