About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

From London~Transit at Chongqing to Shanghai and 144 hour policy

My first flight plan is combination of two flights.
China airlines from London to Chongqing,
4 hours stopover and another flight (Hainan airlines) to Shanghai. From Shanghai I will again fly to Busan, south Korea.

So, in summary, my flight plan is as follwing.
1. London to Chongqing
(Stopover for 4 hours ; direct transit, so no passing through immigration, continue to the following flight, but with different airline)
2. Chongqing to Shanghai
(Planning to stay for a few days without visa)
3. Shanghai to Korea, Busan

Will I be eligible for the 144 hour exemption? Or, will i be able to stay without visa for 72 hours , from the moment I land in Chongqing?

You need a visa or change your flight. Two or more stops limit your transit time to 24 hours.

You don't get to choose where you pass through immigration. Chongqing is where you will officially enter the country before catching the "domestic" flight to Shanghai thus not eligible for 144 hour transit without visa.
