About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Flight from Brisbane to Rome with 2 transits in China is a visa required?

Australian passport holder. 1st Flight Brisbane to Guangzhou, then a 2nd connecting flight 4 and a half hours later from Guangzhou to Rome. This 2nd flight has a 1 and a half hour transit stop in Wuhan. Travel is all on the same airline.
The total transit is less than 24 hours, are 2 transit points permitted without a visa?
