About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

American Traveling on Xiamen Air to Bali, Indonesia

Odd question.

American citizen.

Originating in LAX and traveling to DPS (Bali).

Flight routing is LAX-TAO (Qingdao- short layover)- XMN (Xiamen- 8 hr layover) and then DPS.

The literature on this site states that there can only be one stop in China. While I read conflicting data, I am in need of clarification. Thank you kindly in advance.

Hi, Ryan, the 24 hr direct transit allows you to have 2 or more stops in China. So if your total layover time in Qingdao and Xiamen is no more than 24 hr, no visa is required for the trip.

Thanks Enzo; Do you know where I may find this in writing? I am hearing horror stories of people being left behind.

Here you go. The single stop is 144 hour Transit Withiout Visa. You are doing a 24 hour direct transit which allows more than 1 stop
You can find the page of 24-Hour Direct Transit in China on this website.
