About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

AMSTERDAM-XIAMEN-SINGAPORE-AMSTERDAM

Hi, I'm flying from Amsterdam to Xiamen. Arriving Xiamen on 27 april 10.45am and leaving 30 april in the evening to Singapore. Do I need a visa for China?

And my friend is flying: Amsterdam-Singapore-Xiamen-Singapore-Amsterdam
We have dutch passports.
Can we use 72 hour free transit?

Thanking you in advance for the reply

SIN-XMN-SIN is not transit so they need a visa in advance. AMS-XMN-SIN is OK for 72-hour transit.

Hi,

I called Xiamen airport as the info regarding the 72 hours was too vague for me and don't want to be stranded at Xiamen airport. The person I spoke to said the 72 hour visa free transit start from time of arrival till time of departure. And NOT as some sites state from midnight 0:01 so in my case I do need a visa. Hope this helps other travellers.
