Hi there, China Visa

My husband just went to the Chinese Embassy to submit our China Application. He was told that we do not need to get a visa as we will be in China for 6 days only. We are going to his parents' village in San Hoi in Guangzhou from Guangzhou airport.

I read it online that NZ citizens are 144-hours free transit when in transit at Beijing, Dalian, Hangzhou, Hebei, Nanjing, Shanghai, Shenyang and Tianjin airports.

Can you please confirm if we really don't need to get a visa anymore as Guangzhou airport is not listed above?

Hi, Cynthia, as far as I know, there is no 144 hr free transit in Guangzhou. So you need to get the regular visa for the trip beforehand.
